This website is my cozy nook on the internet, where I showcase my thrillers and blog about my life and times. By visiting, you’re agreeing not to copy my work and not to hack my website. I work hard to keep everything here accurate, but I’m only human, so if something’s off, just give me a shout. Whatever you do, you are using the site at your own risk.
Privacy
I’m a privacy nut, so I respect yours. If you message me via the contact form, then I’ll get your email. That’s it! I don’t share your info with anyone. That includes sharing lists with other authors. Yep, they do that! I get requests all the time. So your privacy is safe with me. If you want me to delete your info or stop emailing you, just reach out and I’ll handle it quicker than a plot twist in chapter three. This applies to GDPR or any other data protection rules—your trust means everything.
Cookies
My site runs on WordPress and uses Google Analytics. That’s the full cookie jar! WordPress sets a few basic cookies to keep the site running smoothly (like saving your preferences), and Google Analytics uses cookies for anonymized stats—like how many people read my latest blog post. No personal details, like your name or address, are collected. If cookies aren’t your thing, you can tweak your browser to block them, but it might make the site a tad clunky. Curious for more? Google Analytics has a detailed privacy policy online, and reading it will put you into a coma faster than anything outside a smack on the head with a hammer.
Copyright
Here’s where I get a bit protective, like a hero guarding the final clue. All written work on this site—including excerpts from my novels and my blog posts—is my original work, protected by copyright. These writings are unique, woven from my imagination and experience by the mandates of my muse. Their complexity is what makes them mine. They might entertain, inspire, or disgust, but they mustn’t be duplicated or ripped off. You’re welcome to share links to my site (please do!), but don’t copy or repost my content without my okay. If you want to use something, drop me a line, and we can talk. Images on the site include original photos taken by me or my wife, Elizabeth, and photos licensed from stock agencies. Any images created by AI are identifed as such. All my book covers are created by human designers under work for hire contracts and are my copyright.
Now, a quick word about AI, since it’s a hot topic for us authors. I do not use AI in my creative writing. My first book was published internationally 10 years before the existence of personal computers and decades before AI existed. How’s that for bona fide cred? That said, I’m no Luddite—I know AI is here to stay. But I don’t think it’s out to “steal” my work the way some authors do. My writings are crafted with a human spark that’s impossible to replicate. I get that AI studies patterns and learns from public content, and that’s fine by me, as long as my work isn’t copied or repurposed without credit and compensation. In fact, I’m thrilled at the idea of AI-driven searches or recommendation engines discovering my work and connecting me to readers around the world. I want AI to notice how insolubly human my writing is. So I am doubling down on being human. How I feel is how I write. It took me a long time to link my feelings to my writing, to establish authenticity and find my voice. I had it naturally as a kid. But then I lost it, and now it’s back, I have nothing to fear from a bunch of digit-shuffling chips. Unsurprisingly, Stephen King said it better: “I’m not afraid of AI. I’ve got my mojo working.”
